The English as a Foreign Language (EFL) program and some associate degrees are eligible programs of study for an F-1 student to receive an I-20.
F-1 students have restrictions on changing their program of study. You cannot change your program during your first academic year. After the first academic year, there may still be situations where you are not eligible to change your program.
Because changing your program may not always be possible, it is important to carefully consider your choice before you begin your studies. Research your options first to make sure you are choosing a program that is the best fit for your academic and career goals.
If your goal is to transfer to a four-year university to earn a higher degree after completing your studies at Wake Tech, refer to the Transfer Resources webpage for guidance in selecting a program of study at Wake Tech.
If a program of study offered by Wake Tech is not listed on this page as eligible for F-1 students, it may be because the program requires more online coursework than is permitted under F-1 regulations. In some cases, the program may also be pending approval from U.S. immigration authorities for F-1 student enrollment.
