All Wake Tech campuses remain closed Wednesday, January 28, 2026, because of continued icy conditions. Students taking in-person classes should check with their instructors for more information. Online classes continue as scheduled. Many Wake Tech services, including Admissions and Academic Advising, are available virtually at virtualsupport.waketech.edu. Wake Tech employees who can work remotely should do so.
The Associate in Science (AS) degree provides a solid general education foundation for students who want to pursue a four-year degree in the following areas of study:
Computer science
Engineering
Mathematics
Any of the sciences
Professional programs that require a strong background in math and science
Associate degree programs are part of the Comprehensive Articulation Agreement, which facilitates the transfer of students between institutions in the North Carolina Community College System and the University of North Carolina System.
