Intro to Medical Sonography
Course ID: SON-3100A3 | Overview
This course is designed to provide an introduction to Medical Sonography. Topics include applications, terminology, history, patient care, ethics, and basic skills. Upon completion, students should also be able to define sonographic applications, basic patient care skills, and preliminary scanning techniques. This class does not qualify a student to take the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (RT(S) certifications and students are not qualified to work as Diagnostic Medical Sonographers. A high school or equivalency diploma is required to register for this class.

Mammography
Course ID: MAM-2100A3 | Overview
This course is for ARRT-registered radiologic technologists and radiography students. The theory component of the course is online, and covers the principles of breast anatomy, positioning, projections, processing, quality control and evaluation of digital images. The clinical rotations, at local imaging facilities, will be determined before the program starts. Graduates will meet the initial requirements of the Mammography Quality Standards Act, and upon completion of the required clinical rotation, may be eligible to take the American Registry of Radiologic Technologic (ARRT) post-primary certification exam in Mammography. Once registered, students will be able to perform mammograms in hospitals and imaging facilities.
