This hands-on approach to the many aspects of 3D printing (additive manufacturing) uses a Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) system in a safe and efficient manner. The course provides training in computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) using a business grade 3D Printer and 3D CAD Software.

In this course, students will learn how to use industrial control components, electrical symbols, and electrical schematics; wire an industrial control circuit given a description and a schematic; procedures and techniques for troubleshooting and fault analysis; and multi-meter methods and techniques. In teams of two, students will wire multiple control panel circuits using a circuit schematic, and troubleshoot common industrial control circuit faults using a schematic and multi-meter. Hands-on training will be supplemented with online assignments.

In this course, students will use hydraulic components, symbols, and schematics; construct a hydraulic circuit that incorporates electrical and PLC controls, given a description and a set of schematics; and find and correct circuit faults, using troubleshooting procedures and test equipment. In teams of two, students will construct multiple hydraulic circuits using hydraulic, electrical, and PLC schematics. The teams will troubleshoot common circuit faults using schematics and test equipment. Hands-on training will be supplemented with online assignments.

In this fascinating course, you’ll learn to read and interpret blueprints – a skill that’s critical for manufacturing products to meet specifications and making sure finished parts function as intended! This course covers the three major elements of a blueprint: drawing, dimensions, and notes; and you’ll gain a thorough understanding of each. You’ll read and interpret drawings in class and complete assignments online.
