Wake Tech is an American Heart Association (AHA) training center for many AHA courses. CPR is a basic skill that can be learned at various levels to help save a life, and it is a prerequisite for many areas of study, such as the Nursing and Nurse Aide programs and Medical Laboratory Technology.

This course teaches healthcare professionals how to recognize life-threatening emergencies, provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), use an automated external defibrillator (AED), and relieve choking in a timely and effective way. The course uses the American Heart Association’s “practice-while-watching” technique, in which instructors observe students and provide feedback and guidance. Skills practice is also included throughout the course.

Reflects science and education from the American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC).
This course teaches skills with the AHA’s research-proven practice-while-watching technique, which allows instructors to observe the students, provide feedback, and guide the students’ learning of skills.

The AHA's Heartsaver First Aid Course is a classroom, Instructor-led course designed to prepare students to provide first aid in a safe, timely, and effective manner. This course covers the objectives outlined by the American Heart Association for Heartsaver First Aid and enables students to meet AHA criteria for first aid delivery. Upon successful completion of the course, including a first aid skills demonstration, students receive a Heartsaver First Aid course completion card, valid for two years.

The Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED Course is designed to meet the regulatory requirements for child care workers in all 50 U.S. states. It teaches child care providers and others to respond to illnesses and injuries in a child or infant in the first few minutes until professional help arrives.
The course covers child/infant CPR, child/infant AED, child/infant choking, and pediatric first aid. Adult modules in CPR, AED and choking are optional.
