Those interested in helping clients with activities of daily living in senior living facilities and in their homes.
Description
Direct Care Workers play a vital role in health and long-term care systems by improving the quality of life for the people they assist and support. This course is designed to prepare the student to render assistance to aged persons and their families who need support with personal care and home maintenance. The course will explore a variety of direct care worker roles, the education and/or skills needed, and the many different settings for employment. This course will introduce you to the healthcare aide career pathway and satisfy your compassion, commitment, and heart for helping others
Course Objectives

Requirements for Successful Completion of this Course
  1. Attendance 90% or above
  2. Participation
  3. The student shall score at least 70 on the written examination.
    The student shall satisfactorily perform all required personal care skills
    Students must meet the minimum attendance requirements, complete all assignments, and pass a written test and perform all the required personal care skills to successfully complete the course.
