More than 20 faculty and staff members were recognized for their service and dedication, while nine students received Academic Excellence awards. All recipients received a plaque to display and a cash award.
The Excellence Awards are sponsored annually by the Wake Tech Foundation.
Sponsored Programs partners with leaders across the college to raise funds in the form of grants and appropriations from federal, state and local governments, as well as foundations, to foster innovation and address unmet needs of the college. The Sponsored Programs team also provides grant management and compliance support to ensure the college achieves maximum impact from sponsored programs in support of student success.
Wake Tech was awarded more than $20 million in grants and appropriations in 2022-23, with 19 of 26 submitted public and private competitive grant proposals receiving funding, and five submissions pending. Of these funds, the college received more than $4.75 million to address the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, of which the Sponsored Programs staff provided administration and compliance oversight.
The Wake Tech Foundation makes it possible for anyone in the community who wants a college education to get one so that our region remains the best place to live and work in the world. Give Now
