Order your regalia (cap and gown)

The deadline to purchase regalia for the Spring 2022 graduation event was March 1.

Ordering regalia directly from Herff Jones reserves your seat for the ceremony. Graduates who purchased regalia in a semester other than the current semester will need to email [email protected] to confirm attendance. Regalia is not available for students who missed the deadline; used or borrowed regalia is not permitted.

Graduates who ordered regalia by the deadline will have their regalia mailed to the address provided by the graduate at the time the order was placed.

Marching Order portal

Wake Tech has partnered with Marching Order to provide students and their guests with a seamless graduation experience. The Marching Order portal opened on Wednesday, March 23, 2022. Graduates should check their Wake Tech email account for an email from Marching Order that provides information on registering their Marching Order account; emails were sent to graduates on Wednesday, March 23, 2022. Once registered, graduates will be able to upload their name pronunciation recording, photo and/ or quote into the Marching Order portal. Graduates must log into the portal with their Wake Tech email address.

The Marching Order portal will allow graduates to verify their name and degree information and record the pronunciation of their name to ensure that their name is pronounced correctly as they cross the stage. Marching Order will also provide a virtual graduation component for students who do not wish to participate in the in-person event.

Graduates who submitted their graduation application in Self-Service by March 1 will automatically be placed in the virtual Marching Order portal. The deadline for graduates to upload their name recording submission, photo and/or quote to the Marching Order portal is Monday, April 11 at 11:59 p.m. Late submissions cannot be accepted for any reason.

In-person graduates are strongly encouraged to submit a name recording through Marching Order, as names will be recorded by an outside vendor to be read aloud at the graduation ceremony. Graduation photos and quotes are optional.

In-person graduates will also be able to reserve their graduation tickets in the Marching Order portal.

Ceremony

Spring 2022 graduates will be able to submit a personalized graduation slide in addition to participating in the in-person "walk across the stage" celebration. Graduates have the option to choose which ceremony style suits them best. Graduates can attend virtually, in-person or both. Graduates who opt for the virtual-only option will not have their name read at the in-person event, but their names will be pre-recorded for the virtual slide.

  • Arrive early – at least 45 minutes before the ceremony start time – to allow for check-in and line-up. There is no rehearsal, and no one will be allowed to join the processional line once it starts.

  • Dress appropriately in dressy or business casual clothing underneath your regalia. Graduates without proper attire will not be allowed to participate. Graduate line-up is on a different level than the ceremony, so appropriate footwear is advised, as you will be standing for periods of time as well as navigating stairs during the processional.

  • Do not bring personal belongings other than your regalia, GradPass and photo ID. Storage is not available.

  • Act appropriately. Graduates whose behavior detracts from the dignity and importance of the occasion will not be allowed to participate.

Graduates are encouraged to print this QR code and bring it with them to the ceremony to avoid technical difficulties. Graduates can also choose to have the QR code on their phone rather than a printed version. Graduates with screen protectors or cracked phone screens will need to print out their QR code to avoid technical difficulties.
