To become a notary public in North Carolina, you must take the Notary Public Education class, offered at various times each semester at locations throughout Raleigh and Wake County. In the class, students learn the legal, ethical and procedural requirements for notaries, based on North Carolina law.

According to the Department of the Secretary of State's rules, all students must have a new book.

Wake Tech also offers an Electronic Notarization class, designed to instruct existing notaries public in the legislative procedure required to perform electronic notarial acts.

Become a notary public in NC. Discuss the legal, ethical, and procedural requirements for notaries according to NC laws. The Office of the Secretary of the State of North Carolina trains, tests, qualifies, and commissions NC notaries. When you arrive for class, you must have both the required book and a valid photo ID. The class tuition fee does not include the required text book.

Please note: This class is a second-level course and you must already be a Notary Public to take this course. Electronic Notary is the process of applying an electronic signature and seal onto an electronic document in a completely electronic and paperless transaction. This process allows a notary to affix an electronic signature and notary seal that is legally binding. Participants will learn the electronic requirements to perform notary duties legally and ethically.
