Required Information Sessions

Attend a mandatory information session to learn about registration fees, admission requirements, books, kits, uniforms, and program schedule. You must attend an information session before you can register for this course or enroll in Bilingual Success to Cosmetology course.

Requirements for Registration:

  • Government-issued ID
  • Social Security number or Tax ID number
  • High School Diploma/GED or CRC and Money Order in order to register for this course.

The course is intended for candidates, bilingual in Spanish, that are interested in the field of Cosmetology and seek to obtain a Cosmetology license.

Este curso suplementario permite a los estudiantes inscritos acumular horas adicionales requeridas para presentar el Examen del Estado de Carolina del Norte que les permitiría obtener la licencia de Cosmetología (NC State Board of Cosmetic Arts). El curso refuerza la teoría, provee tiempo para practicar las habilidades aprendidas y revisa las prácticas de control de infecciones y sanidad. Además, incluye consultas a los clientes, manejo de negocios, ética profesional y otros temas relacionados.
Course Objectives
  1. safely and competently apply cosmetology concepts of all phases of cosmetology in a salon setting.
  2. take the Cosmetic Arts Board Theory and Practical exams.
  3. demonstrate proper professional hygiene, grooming, and attitude
  4. communicate effectively, verbally and in writing
  5. accurately select and use appropriate commercial products on customers hair and skin.
  6. demonstrate a high level of workmanship and craft.
  7. perform and thrive in a multicultural diverse environment.
  8. demonstrate mastery of manipulative skills.
  9. achieve gainful employment in the cosmetology industry.
Outline of Instruction
  1. Instructor will reinforce rules, regulations, and safety methods to prevent salon accidents and ensure sanitation procedures are followed.
  2. Course will provide opportunities for students to work with live models to practice client consultations, effective communication and record-keeping.
  3. Instructor will reinforce methods regarding coloring, hair-cutting and foiling techniques.
