Learn the basics of the plumbing and pipefitting trades, including math, welding, safety, OSHA regulations, piping and associated fittings, rigging, soldering and brazing, plumbing codes and the use and care of tools. Then, back that up with more advanced concepts, such as oxy-fuel cutting, water supplies, drainage systems, system repairs, plumbing fixtures and related sciences and services.

Students who successfully complete course requirements receive credit toward completion of the first and second years of training as a plumbing and pipefitting apprentice.

Plumbing and Pipefitting Level 1

Course ID: PLU-3020W1   |   Overview

Level 1 introduces the basics of the plumbing and pipefitting trades, including math, welding, safety, OSHA regulations, the use and care of tools, piping and associated fittings, rigging, soldering and brazing, and plumbing codes . These occupational skills are necessary for work as an apprentice in plumbing and pipefitting. Apprentices generally work in construction environments. Potential hazards include but are not limited to extreme temperatures, dust, noise, and other hazards found on construction sites.

Homeowner Repair and Maintenance Level I

Course ID: CST-3110A7   |   Overview

Learn the basics of home maintenance. Discover ways to assess a problem, how to determine whether you have the skills to fix it, and which tools to use for particular tasks. Create a seasonal checklists, safety issues, plumbing, electrical, basic caulking techniques, appliances and basic maintenance.
