Anyone interested in learning to engage their audience and acquire skills and comfort in public speaking.
Description
Master public speaking! Build your skills in writing, delivering, and evaluating effective speaking in a variety of public settings and situations outside “the comfort of home.” With in-class presentations and practice, you’ll become more dynamic and better able to present your viewpoint — and to move your audience from “no” to “yes”!
Course Objectives
  1. polish public speaking through practice – (frequent opportunities to speak before an audience.)
  2. develop informed insights into what makes for effective speaking.
  3. write and present original speeches in a variety of contexts.
  4. develop the skills and concepts necessary for impromptu speeches.
Outline of Instruction
  1. Make several original oral presentations to the class. Plagiarism will not be accepted
  2. Weekly class discussions, critiques, and exercises.
