All the Children's Voices - September 4-6, 2019
Sponsored by the North Carolina Conference of District Attorneys
This multi-disciplinary training hosted by Dr. Scott Modell, a national expert in working with child victims with disabilities, will teach skills and best practices for working with these children in the investigative and court process. Participants will learn about mental, physical and emotional disabilities, and discover resources available to assist with cases involving children with these needs. The course is open to prosecutors, law enforcement and other allied professionals.
This course will be held at the North Carolina Judicial Center at 901 Corporate Center Dr., Raleigh NC, 27607 (click link for map).

Attention: Students that have completed Credible Leadership: Module I or NCJA Leadership Institute: Module I
The North Carolina Justice Academy will offer the NCJA Leadership Institute (NCJA-LI) with a pilot class beginning in the Spring of 2020. The exact dates of the class to be determined. This is a certificate program in leadership, focusing on topics that are essential for today's law enforcement leaders to better prepare them to serve in executive leadership roles. If you have completed Wake Tech's Credible Leadership: Module I (Online) or NCJA-LI Module I (Online), then you have met the primary prerequisite to apply and compete for one of the 25 positions that make up each session of NCJA-LI. Other prerequisites include an essay on a selected topic, a letter from your chief, sheriff or director, endorsing your selection to the program and a completed application packet. Instructions for each of these items can be access through the web link above or through the training portal. Online registration for the program will open once the dates for the Spring class are confirmed.

Telecommunicator Certification Course - The North Carolina Sheriff's Education and Training Standards Commission requires it's dispatch center telecommunicators to be certified within one year of employment. Employees of other law enforcement agencies are encouraged to take the class to build skills. Training is free for currently employed telecommunicators. Those seeking employment with an agency may also attend, however, class prerequisites include: Must be 21 years old and must provide documentation to meet the NC Sheriff's Education and Training Standards Commission's requirements which include a documented medical physical, medical history, and a criminal background check.
