Intended Audience
This course is designed for persons who would like to take and pass the Certified Bookkeeper Exam.
Develop mastery of six areas relevant to adjusting entries, correcting accounting errors, payroll, depreciation, inventory, internal controls and fraud prevention. Learners will prepare for the national Certified Bookkeeper exam through hands-on QuickBooks training. Course registration includes textbooks.
Course Objectives
  1. Understand the fundamentals of becoming a Certified Bookkeeper
  2. Setup and use QuickBooks software in a small business environment
  3. Demonstrate a basic ability to pass the National Certified Bookkeeper Exam
Outline of Instruction
  1. Certified Bookkeeper program introduction
  2. Internal controls and fraud depreciation
  3. Company payroll
  4. Depreciation for financial statements and taxes
  5. Recording and costing out of merchandise inventory
  6. Correction of accounting errors and bank reconciliation
  7. Accruals, deferrals, and the adjusted trial balance
  8. Mock exam

Certification Learning Outcomes/Requirements
  1. Experience: At least 2 years' full-time experience or the part-time or freelance equivalent, which may be obtained before or after passing the examination
  2. Examination: Candidates must pass a 4-part national examination, including 2 parts given at any Prometric Test Center (there are over 300 nationwide)
  3. Code of Ethics: Applicants must sign a Code of Ethics
