A hefty donation rolled into Wake Technical Community College today. Waste Industries USA, Inc. donated a heavy-duty, commercial front-end loader, worth $115,000, to Wake Tech's Heavy Equipment and Transport Technology program.

State Treasurer Janet Cowell visited Wake Tech Community College today to discuss financial literacy with students. Steve Brooks, Executive Director of the State Education Assistance Authority, joined the discussion and introduced students to Advanced Money Management, a new online tool that can help students manage their finances and minimize debt.

Wake Tech announced a new partnership today with William Peace University that guarantees admission for Wake Tech AAS graduates planning to earn a B.S. in Business Administration or Business Administration/HR.

Wake Tech automotive instructor Rich Cregar has been named a "Champion of Change" by the White House and will be recognized in Washington, D.C., on Thursday, November 3. Two students in Wake Tech's Automotive Technologies program, Samuel Johnson and Devin Fowler, will accompany Cregar for a day of activities.

Wake Technical Community College is the recipient of a 2011 Triangle Business Journal Green Award. The award recognizes Building D on Wake Tech's Northern Wake Tech Campus on Louisburg Road (US 401 N) in Raleigh. Building D is the third instructional building on the environmentally-friendly campus.
