Wake Tech Announces New Partnership with William Peace University

RALEIGH, N.C. (November 3, 2011) - Wake Tech graduates who have earned an Associate of Applied Science degree have a new, convenient way to continue on to pursue their bachelor's degree. Wake Tech announced a new partnership today with William Peace University that guarantees admission for Wake Tech AAS graduates planning to earn a B.S. in Business Administration or Business Administration/HR. The "Transfer2Success" program will accept up to 83 credit hours toward a 121-credit hour degree - and will allow students to stay at Wake Tech and complete coursework in classes taught by Peace faculty.

"This is a major addition to Wake Tech's college and university transfer options," says Wake Tech President Dr. Stephen Scott, "Now students can earn a bachelor's degree in business from a private North Carolina university while attending Wake Tech."

As part of the agreement, representatives from William Peace University will travel to Wake Tech to advise and assist the Peace students, at least 12 times during each academic year.

"We couldn't be more excited to announce our partnership with Wake Tech," said William Peace University President Dr. Debra Townsley. "Transfer2Success provides a fluid transition for community college students, giving them the direction and guidance they need to complete a baccalaureate degree while allowing them the convenient option of remaining on the Wake Tech campus."

The Transfer2Success Program is the latest in a series of partnerships between Wake Tech and public and private four-year institutions. It enhances the North Carolina Community College System's comprehensive articulation agreement.
