Wake Tech automotive instructor Rich Cregar has been named a "Champion of Change" by the White House and will be recognized in Washington, D.C., on Thursday, November 3. Wake Technical Community College is the recipient of a 2011 Triangle Business Journal Green Award. The award recognizes Building D on Wake Tech's Northern Wake Tech Campus on Louisburg Road (US 401 N) in Raleigh. Building D is the third instructional building on the environmentally-friendly campus.

An enthusiastic crowd cheered at the first pep rally in Wake Tech's new gym today. Athletes, students, faculty and staff members dressed in the school colors of blue and gold for the event which helped kick off the men's and women's basketball seasons. The name of the college's mascot was also revealed.
