Wake Tech Honors Community Advisors
RALEIGH, N.C. (October 25, 2011) - "You are our experts!" Those were the words of Wake Tech President Dr. Stephen Scott tonight at Wake Tech's annual dinner honoring the College's 62 advisory committees. More than 350 professionals from the community serve on these committees, which support Wake Tech by helping to shape programs and ensure the relevance of course content and instruction.
Dr. Scott thanked committee members for their commitment to Wake Tech and lauded them for the wealth of expertise they contribute, saying, "You are our secret weapon."
The Advisory Committee for the Dental Assisting program was singled out for distinction as the Advisory Committee of the Year for its especially strong program support. The committee includes Trudy Clark (faculty representative), Jonathan Beavers, Janifer Ellis, Wendi Godwin, Daryl Mangum, Theodore Mayer, and Amanda Roberson.
Four other committees were recognized as Outstanding: Basic Skills, Job Placement, Advertising and Graphic Design, and Heating, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.
