The Nest Food Pantry
One in every 10 people in Wake County lacks food security, according to Feeding America, a nationwide network of 200 food banks and 60,000 food pantries and meal programs. That means those individuals sometimes don't have access to enough food for an active, healthy life or have limited or uncertain availability of nutritionally adequate foods.
The Nest food pantries on Wake Tech campuses help students and their families combat food insecurity. The pantries, which are free and available to all Wake Tech students, allow them to shop monthly and take part in special dining initiatives and food education. Online and advance ordering options let students build custom orders according to their personal preferences and dietary needs and pick up their food at any of four locations:
- Southern Wake Campus
Building L, Room 138 - Scott Northern Wake Campus
Building B, Room 137A - Perry Health Sciences Campus
Building A, Room 4 - RTP Campus
Building 1, Room 137
The pantries at Southern Wake and Scott Northern Wake campuses are open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. Call 919-866-6111 or email [email protected] to schedule an appointment to visit the pantries on the Perry Health Sciences or RTP campuses.
