Wake Tech is closed Monday in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Prospective students can still apply online. The college will reopen Tuesday morning.
With a growing number of classes meeting virtually at least some of the time, if not entirely online, every Wake Tech student needs a computer more than ever. The Care Center can provide laptops to qualified students who don't have one so they can attend classes virtually, complete their assignments and access college services online.
Wake Tech used pandemic relief money to purchase Lenovo ThinkPads, which feature a Windows 10 operating system, 8 GB of memory and a 14-inch screen. Refurbished laptops from various brands are also available.

Library Services also has laptops available to loan out to enrolled students who do not qualify to receive a laptop otherwise.
On Southern Wake and Scott Northern Wake campuses, students can use their Wake Tech IDs to check out laptops through self-service kiosks located in the libraries. Each kiosk has 12 laptops that can be checked out for three hours for on-campus use only.
Libraries on all other campuses have laptops that students can check out for up to 24 hours.
All students must complete a Library Device Loan Request form each semester.
