Description
This work-based learning course provides a work experience with a college-approved employer in an area related to the student's program of study. The integration of classroom instruction and work experience enhances student success rates in obtaining certifications (Ignitor Labs Tech Certification). Upon completion, students should be able to evaluate career selections, demonstrate employability skills, and satisfactorily perform work-related competencies.
Course Objectives

    Upon successful completion of the course, the student will have basic hands-on knowledge of how major commercial kitchen appliances; ovens, grills, steamers operate. Students will be able to troubleshoot, identify and repair commercial food equipment.
Outline of Instruction
  1. Week 1: Orientation ( Learning about the Host Site, Safety Procedures, meeting with Department Managers, getting familiar with the company & job expectations. )
    • Week 2: Hands-On Training in Different Sites based on the Agreement between the employer/student.
    • Week 3: Hands-On Training in Different Sites based on the Agreement between the employer/student.
    • Week 4: Hands-On Training in Different Sites based on the Agreement between the employer/student.
    • Week 5: Hands-On Training in Different Sites based on the Agreement between the employer/student.
