Wake Tech is proud to offer students a convenient new tool for budgeting and managing educational expenses. The college is now offering a tuition payment plan that allows students to pay tuition and fees directly from their checking or savings accounts, or by credit card.

Thanksgiving arrived early for students in Wake Tech’s Fostering Bright Futures program! These students were formerly in foster care and are now in college and on their way to earning college degrees. They enjoyed a Thanksgiving luncheon today at Butterball, LLC in Garner.

Military veterans studying at Wake Tech have a new place to mingle and get important information about benefits and resources. The Military and Veterans Resource Center opened today on the Northern Wake Campus. Wake Tech’s student body includes a number of veterans and active duty military.

A very talented student has been named this year’s Wake Tech Idol! Staci Irizarry defeated eight other finalists to win the annual competition tonight, held on the Northern Wake Campus, and take home a $2,500 scholarship from the Wake Tech Foundation.

Mike Petersen, a volunteer tutor at Wake Tech for more than nine years, has received the United States President’s Lifetime Achievement Award. It’s the most prestigious national recognition given to a volunteer, and has been awarded to few Americans over the years to recognize more than 4,000 hours of service.

How do you squeeze college classes into an already-busy life? For a growing number of students, online education is the perfect answer. But online classes pose challenges, too – and not just for students.

Dozens of local vets and their families found helpful resources, food, and fun today at the annual Veterans Summit at Wake Tech. The free event on Main Campus featured workshops on a variety of topics, advice on starting a business, career and image counseling, and even Salsa dancing lessons!

Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton held a rally at Wake Tech’s Main Campus today. About 1,400 people attended the event, held in the gymnasium, and another 800 watched it in the Student Services Building.

Associate professor and department head Janie Slaughter has been honored with a place in the Criminal Justice Wall of Fame at Wake Tech’s Public Safety Education Campus.
