Wake Technical Community College has a new scholarship program focused on leadership, vision and community service. Raleigh residents Mark and Rachel Selisker have donated $25,000 to launch the Stephen C. Scott Presidential Scholars Program, named after the college president.

Mort Congleton, Wake Tech's Vice President of Development and Executive Director of the Wake Tech Foundation, has been named president-elect of the Board of Directors of the. Council for Resource Development (CRD) in Washington, D.C. CRD supports more than 700 community colleges across the U.S. by developing leaders through education, advocacy, and mentoring.

Wake Tech's New Gymnasium Hosts First Game

Let the games begin! Wake Tech welcomed the sights and sounds of college sports to campus this week for the first time in its 50-year history. The college renovated its Early Childhood Education Building on Main Campus, adding a physical education wing that includes a 17,000-square-foot gymnasium.

Wake Tech Sustainability Dean Earns Advanced Certification

Robert "Butch" Grove, Wake Tech's Dean of Sustainability, has received his professional certification in Campus Sustainability Leadership from the Institute for Global Sustainability at the University of Vermont. Grove successfully completed the nationally-recognized program in July.
