The Gerontology Certificate provides students with knowledge related to the biological, psychological and social changes that occur as people age and is intended for individuals who work with or seek to work with older adults and their families.
The certificate is designed for individuals who would like additional education on gerontology or who are in professions where they will be exposed to older adults, such as nursing, health care and business.
The curriculum provides both theoretical and applied models for understanding issues of aging.
The certificate transfers into the Social & Human Services AAS Degree program for students wishing to earn a two-year degree. Individuals with no prior college experience are encouraged to consider the AAS program.
