The Medical Assisting Diploma prepares students to become health care professionals who perform administrative, clinical and laboratory procedures.

Wake Tech's Medical Assisting Diploma program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). CAAHEP accredits programs upon the recommendation of the Medical Assisting Education Review Board (MAERB).
The accreditation standards are the minimum standards of quality used in accrediting programs that prepare individuals to enter the medical assisting profession. The standards are the minimum requirements to which an accredited program is held accountable.
Graduates of CAAHEP-accredited medical assisting diploma programs may be eligible to sit for the American Association of Medical Assistants' Certification Examination to become Certified Medical Assistants.
Employment opportunities include physician offices, health maintenance organizations, health departments and outpatient clinics.
