Whether you're taking fully online, hybrid or web-enhanced courses, these resources can help you successfully navigate Blackboard and other tools designed to support your success in online courses.

Before reporting an issue, make sure you are using a supported browser and that your browser meets Blackboard's requirements.

For the best experience in Blackboard, use the latest version of one of the following browsers:

  • Google Chrome
  • Microsoft Edge
  • Mozilla Firefox
  • Apple Safari (Mac and iOS devices)

Older browsers and unsupported browsers may not work correctly with Blackboard features, assignments, tests, and integrated learning tools.

If you have a technical problem in an online course, call the Blackboard Help Desk at 919-866-7000 Monday through Thursday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. or email [email protected].

For assistance after hours or on weekends, call Blackboard Student Services toll-free at 866-471-4252 or check out Blackboard's online resources.

If you experience issues in Blackboard:

  • Update your browser to the latest version
  • Clear your browser cache and cookies
  • Try an alternate supported browser
  • Disable pop-up blockers for Blackboard when necessary
  • Ensure third-party cookies are allowed for integrated tools
  • Check for any required browser extensions or plug-ins

While Blackboard can be accessed on mobile devices, some course activities, assessments and tools may work best on a desktop or laptop computer.

To help ensure a successful testing experience:

  • Use a supported browser
  • Close unnecessary programs and browser windows before beginning an assessment
  • Save work frequently when the option is available
  • Start assessments early enough to allow time for troubleshooting if needed
  • Contact your instructor immediately if you experience technical difficulties during an assessment
