Applying for Fall?

New Admissions Placement Criteria may exempt you from testing. Review the criteria below before you make an appointment to test.

The placement test does not determine your admission to Wake Tech, but it does determine your course placement. Please read the information below carefully to find out if you are exempt from testing or to schedule and prepare for the placement test.

Test Exemptions for Fall 2019

Starting fall 2019, Wake Tech has a new placement policy called RISE that uses unweighted high school GPA to determine placement, instead of testing. If you graduated from a U.S. high school within the last 10 years, you are exempt from taking the RISE Placement Test. You will be placed into courses based on your high school GPA.
