For most students, an unweighted high school GPA is used to determine placement in these courses:
Previous work at another college and scores from high school equivalency tests or standardized tests, such as the SAT or the ACT, also can be used to determine course placement. Be sure to submit any test scores you have.
ENG-111 (Writing and Inquiry) for English and MAT-110 (Mathematical Measurement and Literacy), MAT-121 (Algebra/Trigonometry I), MAT-143 (Quantitative Literacy), MAT-152 (Statistical Methods I) and MAT-171 (Precalculus Algebra) for math.

ENG-045 (with ENG-111), MAT-045M (with MAT-110), MAT-045A (with MAT-121), MAT-045Q (with MAT-143), MAT-045S (with MAT-152) and MAT-045P (with MAT-171).
When registering for classes, you must sign up for both the college-level course and its corresponding corequisite, which is designed to reinforce the material and support you in the college-level course.

A semester-long prerequisite course is designed to help you strengthen your English and math skills before you move on to take college-level courses. No prior courses are required to register.
