Boost: Accelerated College-to-Career Program

NC Boost logoStudents who are interested in transferring to a university in a STEM field and want to complete their degree as quickly as possible need to check out the Boost program.

Boost was created by the North Carolina Community College System to get students through college into high-wage, in-demand careers in a shorter period. The program targets high-growth fields, such as biotechnology, health care, engineering, advanced manufacturing and information technology, and works to break down barriers students might face in completing their education.

Wake Tech advisors are selecting 150 students to be a part of the college's 2025 Boost Cohort. Participants can take advantage of the following benefits:

  • Dedicated advisors who help you move through your academic journey and be well-prepared for university transfer
  • Special activities that help you be successful in transfer and STEM careers
  • A monthly $100 stipend for meeting attendance and grade requirements

Eligibility requirements

  • North Carolina residents (eligible for in-state tuition)
  • Have a high school diploma or high school equivalency certificate (not open to dual-enrollment students)
