Adjunct/Temporary Faculty Position Description
Adjunct faculty provide effective instruction in assigned courses on a part-time, temporary basis:
Prepare instruction that reflects appropriate learning objectives
Use formative and summative assessment techniques to improve learning and teaching
Construct classroom materials that support the goals of the course
Prepare thoroughly for each instructional hour
Instruct and guide the class in an efficient and effective manner
Design curriculum and a schedule of instruction
Maintain communication with course committee instructors and participate in instructional discussions
Use course materials such as Blackboard, Moodle, WebAssign, MS Office, Course Compass and internet applications effectively
Remain up to date on technology and methods of teaching with technology
Maintain accurate records of student work and attendance
Maintain a safe and orderly learning environment
Grade and return student work in a timely manner
Counsel students regarding their grades and progress in the course
Attend professional development opportunities to equal 6 hours per semester
Support the department, division and college goals, providing requested data in a timely manner
