Wake Tech marked September 11 with special tributes at three of its campuses. At the Public Safety Education Campus, law enforcement officials, members of the military, and other first responders honored the heroes and victims of that day with a special ceremony.

The National Science Foundation has awarded Wake Technical Community College $47,160 to improve STEM education, and two associate professors in geoscience have been chosen for the project: Adrianne Leinbach and Gretchen Miller will participate in Faculty as Change Agents: Transforming Geoscience Education in Two-year Colleges.

NC Treasurer Janet Cowell visited Wake Tech today to present the college with an award for its commitment to worksite wellness.

The Wake Tech Community College Foundation is pleased to welcome local business leader Matt Smith as the newest member of its staff. Smith joins the Foundation as Associate Executive Director and Major Gifts Officer. He will work to grow private support for the college.

Wake Tech began the 2015-16 academic year on Monday, August 17, with record enrollment.

3D printing enthusiasts converged on Wake Tech today for a unique “meet-up.” Industry representatives and private individuals brought their 3D printers to display and to discuss the latest developments in the field. 

Five teenagers who grew up in foster care are hoping to beat the odds: They’re entering the Fostering Bright Futures program at Wake Tech Community College.

Nine local students will start their senior year of high school a step closer to a college degree and gainful employment. They signed on with the NC Triangle Apprenticeship Program (NC TAP) in a ceremony at Wake Tech’s Advanced Manufacturing Center in Raleigh tonight.

Students who need a little extra help with college-level reading and writing skills can now find it online. Wake Tech’s latest MOOC, or Massive Open Online Course, is titled Mastering the Fundamentals of Reading and Writing.
