he newest building on Wake Tech’s Northern Wake Campus has received LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), verified by the Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI). Wake Tech President Dr. Stephen C. Scott announced the prestigious award today for “Building E,” which opened in 2012.

Wake Tech Honors Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Wake Tech employees and students worked together today to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with a special service project. Volunteers gathered on Main Campus to package 10,000 meals for distribution to schools and orphanages around the world. The project was coordinated by Stop Hunger Now, an international hunger relief organization. The service project has become an annual event for the college.

Four educators from Chile and two interpreters visited Wake Tech Community College today to learn about vocational/technical education at North Carolina community colleges. More than 44% of high school students in Chile are in vocational/technical programs, but many have a hard time finding jobs.
