All Wake Tech campuses are closed Saturday, January 31, 2026, due to inclement weather. Students taking in-person classes should check with their instructors for more information. Online classes will continue as scheduled. Many Wake Tech services, including Admissions and Academic Advising, are available virtually at virtualsupport.waketech.edu. Wake Tech employees who can work remotely should do so.

Civil Design Elements II Certificate

NOTE: This program has been terminated and isn't accepting any new students. Faculty advisors will work with current students to ensure they complete the certificate by August 2027.

The Civil Design Elements II Certificate program includes courses that demonstrate a thorough understanding of civil engineering technology design processes and calculations.

Students are introduced to a variety of coursework covering the following topics:

  • Drainage and erosion control
  • Statics and strength of materials
  • Materials testing
  • Site design and site surveying
  • CAD and GIS software suitable for performing common workplace objectives
