Civil Tech I Certificate

NOTE: This program has been terminated and isn't accepting any new students. Faculty advisors will work with current students to ensure they complete the certificate by August 2027.


The Civil Tech I Certificate program introduces the primary fundamental elements of civil engineering technology.

Overall, the Civil Engineering Technology curriculum provides the skills and theory to plan, analyze and supervise the design and construction of transportation and utility infrastructure. It also prepares students to handle tasks relevant to residential and commercial site design.

Students are introduced to a variety of coursework, including the following:

  • Drainage and erosion control
  • Statics and strength of materials
  • Materials testing
  • Site design and site surveying
  • CAD and GIS software suitable for performing common workplace objectives
