Wake Tech is closed December 24 through January 4 for winter break and will reopen January 5. Prospective students can still apply for enrollment online during the break, and continuing students can register for Spring semester classes, which start January 7.
The BioMaintenance Certificate provides instruction on maintenance procedures and equipment control in the biopharmaceutical industry.
Emphasis is placed on cGMP, OSHA regulation and manufacturing processes applicable to the industry.
The certificate is part of the Bioprocess Manufacturing Technology track and can be completed in less than a year.
As industries increasingly embrace automation and other "smart technologies" in their manufacturing processes, the demand for skilled workers who can operate, maintain and repair these tools is growing rapidly.
Potential jobs include facilities technician, automation technician and instrumentation or calibration technician.
