Wake Tech is closed December 24 through January 4 for winter break and will reopen January 5. Prospective students can still apply for enrollment online during the break, and continuing students can register for Spring semester classes, which start January 7.
The BioAutomation Certificate emphasizes manufacturing processes and quality control procedures applicable to the biopharmaceutical industry.
Students learn about cGMP, OSHA regulation and manufacturing processes applicable to the industry. Courses provide more detailed and very specific applications within the industry.
The certificate is part of the Bioprocess Manufacturing Technology track and can be completed in less than a year.
As industries increasingly embrace automation and other "smart technologies" in their manufacturing processes, the demand for skilled workers who can operate, maintain and repair these tools is growing rapidly.
Potential jobs include facilities technician, automation technician and instrumentation or calibration technician.
