Commercial Refrigeration AAS

Wake Tech Course ID: A35100A

The Commercial Refrigeration AAS Degree provides the basic knowledge and skills necessary to work with commercial refrigeration systems.

Course work includes the following topics:

  • Defrost methods
  • Safety and operational control
  • Proper control application
  • Test instruments
  • Simple control wiring
  • Service, repair and diagnostic procedures for commercial refrigeration systems and components
  • Refrigerant piping
  • Recovery
  • Leak testing
  • Evacuation
  • Charging
  • Startup and evaluation

AAS degree graduates should be able to assist in the installation, service and repair of commercial refrigeration systems found in restaurants, convenience stores, supermarkets and other commercial sites.
