Faculty responsibilities
When an Accommodation Notice is received from DSS, faculty members must comply with the Americans with Disability Act (ADA), which mandates that students with disabilities receive academic accommodations that are reasonable and appropriate. For a list of accommodations and related responsibilities, check the accommodations glossary.
Video captioning
Faculty are expected to accurately caption all videos used in class or online. Contact eLearning Support and Instructional Design for training and assistance.
If you have received an accommodation notice for a student who requires captioning and need assistance, contact the student's DSS coordinator, who is listed at the bottom of the accommodation notice.
Testing
Once the student submits a test request through Eagle Accommodate, you will receive an email notification asking you to log into the Faculty Eagle Accommodate portal. If you need assistance navigating the system, refer to the Faculty Testing Guide, email [email protected] or call 919-866-5670.
