The Tutoring and Learning Center (TLC) can help students in Spanish or French courses at Wake Tech. Staffed by Foreign Languages and Fine Arts Department faculty, the center provides individual tutoring, small-group workshops, practice handouts and other study materials to assist with the following:

• Understanding course content
• Building skills and practicing through speaking, listening, reading and writing
• Improving study techniques
• Preparing for oral and written exams

Students can also complete homework assignments with support from instructors. Regular visitors to the TLC often experience greater success in their foreign language courses, and students can earn extra credit by accumulating visits throughout the semester.

In-person and online tutoring is available. In-person sessions are offered during Fall and Spring semesters at the following locations:

• Southern Wake Campus
  Building B, Room 370
• Scott Northern Wake Campus
  Building E, Room 240

Computers are available for student use at the Scott Northern Wake Campus location. Students visiting the Southern Wake Campus location should bring their own laptop or tablet, if needed.

No appointments are required for foreign language tutoring. An up-to-date schedule and a list of workshop topics, which are announced weekly, can be found on the Foreign Languages TLC Blackboard course. Students can drop in on campus or join the online workshop on the days and times listed.

Summer 2026 tutoring schedule

Schedules (subject to change) and links to meetings are available to students registered in curriculum French or Spanish classes and posted to the Foreign Languages TLC Blackboard course.
