The following steps are required to be classified as a pre-Sonography student:
Acceptance into the Cardiovascular Sonography (CVS) program is not guaranteed. The limited-enrollment program uses a competitive acceptance procedure with a point system, not a waiting list, to determine who can register for CVS classes. Applicants are ranked based grades earned in the general education classes required for the program. Grades of "C" or better are required in all program-related classes.
To be eligible to submit the program application, PHY-110: Conceptual Physics and PHY-110A: Conceptual Physics Lab (or a college-level physics lab) must be completed with a grade of "C" or better.
Students also must meet the prerequisite to register for the following courses without a corequisite to be eligible to submit the program application. It is strongly recommended that these courses be completed by the program application deadline with a grade of "C" or higher for competitive-entry consideration:
NOTE: Biology classes must have been completed within five years of the first CVS class, and any math class must have been completed within 10 years of the first CVS class.
Submit the following by March 31 for Fall entry:
If accepted into the Cardiovascular Sonography program, students are required to attend a mandatory departmental orientation and complete all clinical site requirements.
