Exploring the dental field? The Boot Camp taught by Wake Tech faculty and students is the perfect opportunity to have a hands-on experience with the profession of Dental Hygiene.

  • Learn the differences between the professions of Dental Hygiene and Dental Assisting
  • Discover what it takes to be successful in school and the profession after graduation
  • Speak with current students about the program
  • Rotate through stations with hands-on activities experiencing various topics
    • Infection control
    • Vital signs (blood pressure)
    • X-rays
    • Polishing
    • Sealants
    • Instrumentation on a manikin
  • Observe demonstrations on various topics
    • Ultrasonic scaling
    • Local anesthesia

Participation

Attendees must be at least 15 years old.

The course has been designed for 30 participants, and registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration forms and payment must be received by the deadline to have a completed registration.

Applications and payment to register for boot camp will be accepted beginning at 8 a.m. on May 22. The application window closes at 5 p.m. on June 12 – or earlier if the class reaches its 30-person limit. An announcement will be posted on this page if the course reaches capacity before the deadline.

An email will be sent after registration closes to all participants with additional information and an exact room location.

Payment

The Boot Camp costs $25 (non-refundable, non-transferable) and includes lunch.

Those registered can pay in person or by mail. Cash, credit card, check or money order are accepted. Checks and money orders should be made payable to Wake Technical Community College.
