This certificate is designed to give students a broad foundation in distribution management. Emphasis is placed on providing an overview of the major functions of arranging and coordinating the transportation of products globally.
Students will also gain an understanding of all activities involved in the flow of products and information between the suppliers, customers, producers, and service providers. Upon completion, students will understand the basics of distribution management.
The curriculum covers how companies manage order fulfillment, purchase raw materials, manage warehouses and arrange domestic and international transportation services. Students also learn about freight forwarders, shippers, supply chain collaboration, importing, exporting, third party logistics and logistics technology.
Overall, the Supply Chain Management program teach students about the international and domestic movement of goods, from the raw materials sources through production and, ultimately, to the consumer.
The program serves both entry-level students and those employed in the field who may need to upgrade their skills or acquire new ones.
