Wake Tech provides high-quality instruction in emergency medical care to prepare students as Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs), Advanced EMTs (AEMTs) and Paramedics to meet regional demand. Students learn through intensive, scenario-based instruction and the use of state-of-the-art simulation equipment to master the knowledge, hands-on skills and critical thinking needed by EMS responders to help those in need during an emergency.

Wake Technical Community College's Emergency Medical Science program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) upon the recommendation of the Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP). Wake Technical Community College is approved as an advanced EMS educational institution through the North Carolina Office of EMS.
Wake Tech academic programs (credit and non-credit) that are designed to lead to professional licenses are tied to North Carolina or national certifications.
