First Year Academy Department

Welcome to the First Year Academy! We are here to help students succeed in college by offering course that encourage students to take responsibility for their education.

We work closely with the First Year Experience (FYE) through our ACA 090 course. This course is required for any student with developmental education requirements in both Pre-Curriculum Math and Integrated Reading and Writing. These students participate in the First Year Experience, completing requirements for FYE while taking ACA 090.

Additionally, all college transfer degrees require students to complete ACA 122 – College Transfer Success. This course allows students to map their path through Wake Tech to the four-year college of their choice.
