LaunchWakeTech brings entrepreneurship training and resources to some of the college's degree and non-degree programs. These programs and courses aim to help students develop an entrepreneurial mindset and practice key skills that will support them in their chosen path.
Entrepreneurship for Skilled Trades and Professionals is designed for students who are currently or have recently studied any skilled trade or curriculum area and who would like to learn more about entrepreneurship opportunities. Students will develop a business idea into a thoroughly researched business plan.
Students who successfully complete the course may be eligible to apply for entry into the Main Street Entrepreneurs Accelerator, a training program that culminates in a pitch competition sponsored by Wake Tech Entrepreneurship & Small Business Center.
The Business of Music for Entrepreneurs helps students learn about the different ways to make a living in the music industry, from performing and recording to songwriting and publishing. They will learn about the legal and financial aspects of the music business, as well as the skills necessary to start their own music business.
Students who successfully complete the course may be eligible to apply for entry into the Main Street Entrepreneurs Accelerator, a training program that culminates in a pitch competition sponsored by Wake Tech Entrepreneurship & Small Business Center.
Each year, the Wake Tech Graphic Design/Client Media Relations class takes on a limited number of graduates of LaunchWakeCounty as clients. The program gives the students experience working with real entrepreneurs and as part of a dynamic team, as well as the chance to create substantial examples of their work for their portfolios.
Each client has a personalized team of three to five student designers working exclusively on that business' marketing needs. Branding agency services include creating or refurbishing an existing brand to include communications, logos and other design needs.
