College Closed for Memorial Day
Wake Tech is closed on Monday in observance of Memorial Day. Prospective students can still apply online, and current students can register for Summer and Fall classes. The college will reopen Tuesday morning.
NOTE: This program is not accepting new students. Individuals interested in cloud computing are encouraged to look into the degree and certificate options in Wake Tech's Network & Cloud Administration program.
The Cloud Infrastructure program provides skills and credentials that can qualify graduates for a variety of positions in organizations all over the world. Any organization that uses operating systems, virtualization, cloud computing or data storage solutions will need people trained in these disciplines.
The program includes courses in Cisco routing and switching, desktop and server operating systems, in-depth training with O/S virtualization, Python programming and unique courses in data center storage and cloud hardware environments. Instruction in these areas can qualify students to take industry certification exams in such areas as VMWare, Cisco, Red Hat, Microsoft, CompTIA and NetApp.
A project elective allows students to take a Data Center course or to pursue a co-op component, putting them to work with local employers for on-the-job training in live data centers.
The Cloud Infrastructure program received a National Science Foundation ATE Grant, which was used to improve program courses and support the Student Data Center. The center, which is also supported by business partners, provides students with direct interaction and hands-on work with state-of-the-art hyperconverged equipment used to support cloud infrastructures.
"The instructors are always willing to help, even if it's something that has nothing to do with class."
