NOTE: This program is not accepting new students. Individuals interested in computer network management are encouraged to look into the degree and certificate options in Wake Tech's Network & Cloud Administration program.

The Network Management program prepares individuals for employment supporting local- and wide-area networks. Students learn how to use technologies to provide for data, voice, image and video communications in business, industry and education.

Course work includes design, installation, configuration and management of local- and wide-area network hardware and software. Developing proficiency in using network management software and hardware, such as bridges and routers, is emphasized.

Graduates may find entry-level employment as local area network managers, network operators, network analysts and network technicians. They may also be qualified to take certification examinations for various network products, depending on their local programs.

Along with a two-year Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degree, Wake Tech offers a shorter, one-year Cisco Network Associate Certificate program. The certificate is embedded in the AAS degree, so a degree graduate would also earn the certificates if appropriate electives are chosen.
