The Associate in Arts (AA) degree is designed for students who want to pursue a four-year degree in a number of disciplines, including liberal arts, business, education, social sciences and nursing, as well as training at a professional school that requires a strong liberal arts background.
All associate degree programs are part of the Comprehensive Articulation Agreement (CAA), which governs the transfer of students between the North Carolina Community College System and the University of North Carolina (UNC) System.
The CAA enables Wake Tech graduates of two-year AA programs who are admitted to a UNC school to transfer with up to 64 credits, which could confer junior status. The CAA is also endorsed by many other independent colleges and universities. However, the CAA does not guarantee admission to a specific university or program.
