Wake Tech is closed December 24 through January 4 for winter break and will reopen January 5. Prospective students can still apply for enrollment online during the break, and continuing students can register for Spring semester classes, which start January 7.
The first-level Architectural CAD Certificate prepares students in basic knowledge of Autodesk AutoCAD software and its application with architectural two-dimensional drawing. Students will learn to generate floor plans, elevations and sections, as well as standard architectural industry graphic standards.
Courses in this certificate, which are prerequisite to higher-level certificates, include basic hands-on architectural drafting in residential construction and computer courses in different types of computer-aided drafting software, from basic to advanced levels.
Overall, the Architectural Technology curriculum provides individuals with knowledge and skills that can lead to employment in the field of architecture or one of the associated professions. Optional courses may be provided to suit specific career needs.
Graduates may have career opportunities within the architectural, engineering and construction professions, as well as positions in industry and government.
