The Civil Engineering Technology program provides the skills and theory needed to plan, design and supervise the construction of various residential and commercial land development projects.

Students are introduced to a variety of coursework covering the following topics:

  • Drainage and erosion control
  • Statics
  • Materials testing
  • Site design and site surveying
  • CAD and GIS software suitable for performing common workplace objectives
  • Drones and unmanned aircraft systems (UAS)

Scholarship funds are available for this program of study.

Graduates also have transfer opportunities to pursue bachelor's degrees at Old Dominion University (Civil Engineering Technology), UNC-Charlotte (Civil Engineering Technology), Elizabeth City State University (Unmanned Aircraft Systems), North Carolina A&T State University (Geomatics) and East Carolina University (Industrial Technology).
